ILPF is a charitable organization by the like-minded peoples that include -liver disease patients, health care providers, policy makers and volunteers who want to support the cause of liver disease. We think- experienced patient is half doctor. By going through the agony of illness, they know the real life facts and they faced the difficulties by own. Patient forms a bridge between the experts/doctor in one side and his/her fellow patients at the other side. He/she is torch bearer to many of his colleagues who are unable to get the timely advise, referral or care or proper follow up. ILPF emerged from a desire amongst Indian liver patient groups to share their experiences because they proudly say – I suffered, I care and now it is you. ILPF is set to highlight the size of the problem; to promote awareness and prevention; to work with professional bodies and to ensure that treatment and care and finally to bridge the global gap in the field of academics and research relating to the liver and liver diseases. The aim is to promote the interests of people with liver disease and in particular: to highlight the size of the problem; to promote awareness and prevention; to address the profile of liver disease as compared to other areas of medicine such as heart disease; to share experience of successful initiatives; to work with professional bodies and with the policy makers to ensure that treatment and care are harmonized across India to the highest standards. Goal is to assist and support healthcare related to liver diseases.
Our vision is that all liver patients to be diagnosed in time, are treated with respect, and have equal access to the best standard of medical care – regardless of origin, lifestyle, and type of liver disease. Our ultimate goal is a world with reduced liver diseases burden. Mission is to make the patient as his/her own advocate for healing, to disseminate the patient awareness/care and to reduce preventable death in relation to chronic liver disease. To create public awareness about liver health, through information education and communication. We commit to assist those living with a liver disease. Striving continuously, we aim to bridge the global gap in the field of academics and research relating to the liver and liver diseases to patient care I.E. Affordable health care at par with international standard.
If everyone thinks why should we join & why should we be part of change? If you are following this rule in life, then my friends you have to change your mindset because so many needy patients & their family are waiting for one messenger & may be you are one of the messengers. So the only thing, which is stopping us, is our mindset. We have to change our mindset & bring light in the life of needy patients. So friends lit a light not the mere candle by connecting dots by joining hands. Be a volunteer, be a hero.
